"Providence Falls" Time Travel Trilogy Coming to Hallmark Channel in August 2025 for "Summer Nights" Event

Many fans who follow my social media pages have been grumbling (and rightly so) that many recent Hallmark movies have been falling short of their expectations.
With innumerable romance novels on the market, I have always maintained that Hallmark movies based on books are better.
Scriptwriters who find themselves stuck in a recycled loop of movie tropes need only turn to published authors for fresh takes on storytelling.
Today, Deadline broke the news that Hallmark has adapted the three-book series, Providence Falls, by Jude Deveraux and Tara Sheets into a trilogy that will premiere on Hallmark Channel in August during the network's annual "Summer Nights" event.
Who Will Star in Hallmark's Providence Falls?
Headlining Providence Falls are Katie Stevens, Lachlan Quarmby, and Evan Roderick.
It appears that Hallmark is attempting to introduce new talent, as Stevens and Quarmby have not appeared previously on any of the network's channels. Roderick is the only familiar face--he has enjoyed several supporting roles on Hallmark as well as been cast in the lead in such movies as Leah's Perfect Gift, Sealed with a List, and Autumn in the City.
Hallmark fans struggle to adjust to new faces on Hallmark, but if these actors perform well, fans will warm to them.
What Is Providence Falls About?
Set in 1844 Ireland, Providence Falls revolves around Liam O’Conner (Quarmby), a rogue and a thief, who falls in love with Cora McLeod (Stevens), a fiery but sheltered aristocrat’s daughter, who is promised in marriage to a man she barely knows. Their plan to make a new life together in America is thwarted, and the consequences of Liam and Cora’s unlikely love ripples through time, causing everyone to relive the events of the past.
Now the Angels of Destiny need Liam’s help to set things right and if he doesn’t succeed, his very soul is on the line. They transport Liam to present day to help this incarnation of Cora fall in love with Finn (Roderick), the man she was destined to marry in 1844. Liam would give anything to reunite with his beloved Cora but only he retains the memories of their past together.
Now a cop in Providence Falls, Oregon, Cora feels an inexplicable connection to Liam, who is introduced as her new partner. And as they tackle a big case together, Liam sees the same passion and adventurous nature in Cora that he had fallen in love with.
With everyone’s lives at stake, Liam must overcome unexpected and otherworldly obstacles in his mission. Perhaps none as powerful as his own undying love for Cora.
When Will Providence Falls Air on Hallmark Channel?
Summer Nights is the annual Hallmark event that follows Christmas in July. The first movie in the trilogy is set to air on August 2, at 8pm Eastern on Hallmark Channel and then the following day on Hallmark+.
Jessica Callahan, Hallmark's VP of Programming, promises, “Hallmark viewers will be swept into the mystery, gorgeous period costumes, and most of all, the epic romance.”

BOOK ONE: CHANCE OF A LIFETIME
In 1844 Ireland, Liam O’Connor, a rogue and a thief, fell madly in love with a squire’s daughter and unwittingly altered the future. Shy and naive Cora McLeod thought Liam was the answer to her prayers. But the angels disagreed, and they’ve been waiting for the right moment in time to step in.
Now Liam finds himself reunited with his beloved Cora in Providence Falls, North Carolina. The angels have given Liam a task. He must make sure Cora falls in love with another man—the one she was supposed to marry before Liam interfered. But this Cora is very different from the innocent girl who fell for Liam in the past. She’s a cop and has a confidence and independence he wasn’t expecting. She doesn’t remember Liam or their past lives, nor is she impressed with his attempts to guide her in any way.

BOOK TWO: THIEF OF FATE
When Liam O’Connor stole Cora McLeod from her destined soul mate, Finley Walsh, in 1844, he changed the course of history. Now Liam has been given three months to set things right, but he has failed to reunite Cora and Finn. And with time running out, things are looking worse than ever.
As the three investigate a murder case together, they are caught in a devilish love triangle. Finn has always loved Cora. She has finally realized she wants Liam. And Liam knows he has no choice but to push Cora away if he has any hope of avoiding eternal damnation. The angels have made it clear—balance must be restored.
As Liam tries desperately to make amends, he realizes his actions in the past have put them all in grave danger. And, once again, someone will pay the ultimate price.
