Two of our favorite Great American Family actors will be returning again this year in a new Christmas movie that encapsulates the true meaning of the season.

Great American Family recently announced that Christopher Russell and Shae Robins will headline the all-new original feature A Christmas List of Blessings.

Great American Family originally posted a teaser video to their social media platforms showing Christopher Russell but only the BACK of his co-star, which left fans guessing the identity of his onscreen love interest.

Judging from the hair, I thought it would be Jillian Murray, since she inked a multi-picture, multi-year deal with Great American Family in 2024. Others guessed Danica McKellar and Jen Lilley, but we were wrong!

Shae Robins is a beloved Great American Family regular, having starred in Identical Love, Love in Aruba, two Destined at Christmas movies, and Passport to Love. Fans are thrilled that she will return in 2025 for what will surely become a seasonal favorite!

Christopher Russell's Great American Family movies include A Lot Like Christmas, A Dash of Christmas, Peppermint and Postcards, A Vintage Christmas, and a role in the series When Hope Calls.

What Is A Christmas List of Blessings About?

Here's the plot of A Christmas List of Blessings, per Great American Family's website:

Natalie (Robins), a children’s book illustrator struggling with creative burnout, finds unexpected inspiration when she comes across a little girl’s Christmas gift list. Unlike other children’s Christmas lists, Caroline writes her list of heartfelt prayers to Jesus, requesting blessings for her family, friends, and community – including one to ask that her recently widowed dad (Russell) will find happiness again.

Touched by Caroline’s list, Natalie begins to secretly fulfill each blessing. In turn, she is inspired to create a new character, Adeline the Angel, to illustrate the ways Jesus quietly works through everyday people to answer prayers with love and grace.

The premise of a writer struggling with burnout is a common romcom trope, but the idea of Jesus working through ordinary people for His purposes is what makes the story unique and fitting for the Christmas season.

Bill Abbott, CEO of Great American Family, Weighs in on A Christmas List of Blessings

Bill Abbott never abandons his vow to be a network that provides "entertainment without compromise." He recently appeared on Crossmap Podcast where he emphatically explained what that means, stating it's about "not compromising on our values, not compromising on traditions, being consistently supportive of faith, family and country and not compromising on quality, which is very important to us.”

A Christmas List of Blessings will continue Great American Family's commitment to wholesome entertainment.

Abbott shares that A Christmas List of Blessings is "a heartfelt film about the miracles that happen when people come together for the greater good, and it is a powerful reminder of why we celebrate the season.”

Abbott further expounds that the movie is “rooted in faith, family, and community, [and] exemplifies what makes Great American Christmas stand apart from other holiday movie events. Great American Christmas original films reflect the true meaning of the season with heart, purpose, and authenticity."

Great American Christmas will be celebrating its 5th anniversary in 2025, and that is a big milestone! No word yet on the official launch date for the holiday movie season, but it will likely be mid-to-late October. Rival network, Hallmark, has hinted that Countdown to Christmas will kick off on October 17, so it's safe to assume Great American Family's timeline will be close to that date.

I love Great American Family because there are never any unwelcome "surprises" in their content.

During the Christmas season, the content of other channels fixates on secular activities, consistently abandoning the true meaning of Christmas, which guts programs of heart, substance, and value. Great American Family movies are uplifting, inspiring, and point to Jesus without ever sounding "preachy."
