Great American Family Announces List of 14 New Christmas Movies for 2025!

Great American Christmas kicks off early this year on October 11. This year marks a special milestone--it's the network's fifth anniversary!

Which of your favorite stars will be making an appearance? Check out the list of the 14 new movies coming your way on Great American Family, Great American Pure Flix, and GFAM+!

Expect updates to this list, however, because Great American Family posted on social media to "stay tuned for more surprises."

Movie 1: A Wisconsin Christmas Pie

Premieres: Oct. 9 on Great American Pure Flix; Oct. 11 at 8 p.m. ET on Great American Family and GFAM+

Starring: Katie Leclerc and Ryan Carnes

PLOT: "A pastry chef (Leclerc) returns home to Door County, Wisconsin, for Christmas and finds that saving her family's orchard — and her heart — may depend on the perfect pie and a second chance at love."

Movie 2: A Christmas Prayer

Premieres: Oct. 16 on Great American Pure Flix; Oct. 18 at 8 p.m. ET on Great American Family and GFAM+

Movie 13: A Royal Christmas Tail

Movie 14: Mario Lopez Presents: Chasing Christmas

Premieres: Dec. 19 on Great American Pure Flix; Dec. 21 at 8 p.m. ET on Great American Family and GFAM+

Starring: Jillian Murray, Trevor Donovan, and Dominic Lopez

PLOT: "A wish tree unites a morning show host (Donovan) and an artist (Murray) as they race across Buffalo with the host's daughter and the artist's son (Lopez) to find the season's hottest toy — discovering love and family along the way."

Thoughts on Great American Family's List of 2025 Christmas Movies

If you're seeking cozy Christmas movies that are as warm and inviting as a cup of cocoa, Great American Family is serving up movies that celebrate faith, family, and country.

We'll have to be open-minded about the new faces that are headlining some of these movies. Too often, debut talent results in a second-rate movie, but let's hope that won't be the case!

Based on the plot descriptions, originality seems in short supply, sadly. Four of the movies are about "saving" something, one movie centers on amnesia, another is about a royal on the loose, there's fake dating and yet another movie with Cindy Busby (I've had enough of her). I was hoping for unique stories with heart, but it's just more of the same. There are a few exceptions--Timeless Tidings of Joy, The Christmas Spark, A Royal Christmas Tail, and A Christmas Prayer sound like they will stray from the plot formula at least a little.

Many are wondering why the promised sequel to Home Sweet Christmas starring Candace Cameron Bure and Cameron Mathison is not included in the lineup. We'll have to wait and see if it will be added at the last minute or if it's being saved for a different time.

Great American Family has not yet released an official movie checklist, but when they do, it will be posted here for you to download.
